Rob Tobin, Screenwriter, Novelist Rob is a produced, award-winning screenwriter, published novelist, former motion picture development executive, and author of two well-known screenwriting books (“The Screenwriting Formula” and “How to Write High Structure, High Concept Movies.”). His feature script “Freedom Café” is under production now; his co-wrote “Broken” made the semi-finals at PGA Make Your Mark film competition, judged by such luminaries as Michael Douglas, Kathy Bates and Danny Devito. Rob co-wrote the $25 million budget “Vengeance” on assignment for producer Chris Xavier of Origen Productions; Rob wrote the drama “The Camel Wars” on assignment, which John McTiernan (“Die Hard,” “Predator” “Hunt for Red October”) attached himself to direct. Ms.Vicki Bartholomew writes family plays for actors of all ages. Her personal favorite is Aunt Alice's Summer, which received the Jackie White Memorial National Children's Play Writing Award early in her playwriting career. She received the Jackie White Award a second time (2004) for her book and lyrics for Five Frogs and a Prince (music by Linnea Brooks). Someone to Love, a romantic comedy featuring older actors, won the San Diego New Works Theatre Playwriting Contest and the 2004 Jewel Box Theatre Playwriting Contest, and the 2008 Moondance Film Festival Stage Play Award. Her live action/animation screenplay Blinda won Best Screenplay for ages 5-8 at 2010 KIDS FIRST Film Festival. The Hickory Horse was Reserve Best Screenplay at 2010 Female Eye Film Festival and third place at 2009 KIDS FIRST Film Festival. Three Fathers, set in Yinchuan, China, won the Spirit of Moondance Best Feature Screenplay for Kids at the 2010 Moondance Film Festival. Her juvenile novel set in Thailand, Dragonflies and Elephants, published by Lighthouse Christian Publishing (2010), was Aloha Accolade Award Winner at 2011 Honolulu Film Awards.
